Scholarships for Service (SFS)
is an AmeriCorps Education Award Only Program that
engages college students committed to service who serve a minimum of 300 hours in exchange for a $1000 Education Award. SFS
is available to the RISD community through the generous support of Rhode Island Campus Compact and Serve Rhode Island.
During
the 2009-2010 school year eight RISD students will be able to participate in this program. Two opening are available with
project Open Door and two placements will be made at New Urban Arts. Four other positions are available for students who
propose working with an eligible community program. Participants must be, 17 years old, have a high school diploma, be US
Citizens or a US national or a lawful permanent resident alien of the US. Applications to participate must be completed by
15 October 2009.

Meeting: Scholarships for Service provides a $1,000 scholarship for ten RISD students who complete 300 hours of community service during a calendar
